Yesterday we talked about Veteran's Day and why it is observed. Each child then made a thank you card for a veteran. These will be taken to the Veteran Hospital in Tomah to be distributed. For all our classroom families that have served or are still serving in the military...THANK YOU!
Our class has been busy working on composing and decomposing numbers. Basically, composing is taking two small numbers and creating a large number (i.e. 3 and 2 make 5). Decomposing means taking a large number and breaking it into two smaller numbers (i.e. 5 is made of 2 and 3). We are laying the groundwork for understanding addition and subtraction.
Today we played the game "May I?" This would be a great game to keep playing at home with families! See if your child can show the game to you! If not, email me for details!
